What this role covers

We are hiring an Operations Assistant for a personal chef and events company in the hospitality/culinary services industry. This is a part-time remote role for a U.S.-based company in Austin, Texas. This role is ideal for someone who has a warm, personable approach with clients, strong sales and operations experience, and the ability to manage client relationships from start to finish while coordinating event details.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle inbound sales calls and client inquiries in a professional and caring manner

  • Guide clients through the booking process, from initial consultation to event execution

  • Coordinate event logistics, including menu selection from prepared options and client preferences

  • Manage client accounts, ensuring satisfaction and repeat business

  • Follow established sales scripts and processes using the company’s CRM (Dubsado)

  • Provide administrative and operational support as needed

  • Maintain timely communication with clients, chefs, and team members

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in sales, client services, or operations

  • Background in event coordination or hospitality preferred

  • Strong phone presence and excellent communication skills

  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple client accounts simultaneously

  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with culinary concepts and ability to discuss menus with clients

  • Previous experience working in the hospitality, catering, or events industry

  • Experience supporting small businesses or startups

Required Skills & Tools:

  • CRM software (experience with Dubsado strongly preferred)

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Professional phone etiquette and client communication skills

  • Comfort with remote work tools (email, video conferencing, shared docs)

Schedule & Pay:

  • Part-time position: 20 hours per week (10 AM – 2 PM CST preferred)

  • This is a fully remote job for a U.S.-based company (Austin, TX)

  • Pay: R7000 to R8000 (South African Rands)
