What this role covers

We are hiring a Content & Newsletter Specialist for a growing sports tech company in the Sports industry. This is a full-time remote role for a US-based company. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and a strong writer who can comfortably turn programming data into useful, friendly content for players, coaches, and clubs. The ideal candidate should be able to follow a weekly publishing cadence, work from a programming inventory, and ensure paid placements are included accurately and naturally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Newsletter Strategy & Drafting: Draft and organize the coach newsletter, player newsletter, and weekly metro newsletters.

  • Content Creation: Write a few short paragraphs of local racket sports news plus curated “what to play this week” recommendations, working closely with the team.

  • Data Coordination: Coordinate with programming and team data to select the best events, clinics, leagues, open play, and social opportunities to feature from the inventory marketplace.

  • Sponsor Integration: Coordinate with the team on boosted programs and sponsors, making sure paid placements are included correctly and naturally in the right newsletters.

  • Performance Tracking: Track newsletter performance, including opens, clicks, featured program clicks, and sponsor/Boost delivery.

  • Calendar Management: Maintain a clean content calendar and a strict weekly publishing checklist to ensure a consistent cadence.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in content writing, copywriting, or email marketing management.

  • Exceptional written English with a natural ability to write welcoming, engaging, and community-driven copy.

  • Strong operational discipline: consistent, proactive, and thoughtful with the ability to manage content calendars and strict publishing checklists.

  • High attention to detail and data coordination skills (interpreting marketplace inventory into engaging content).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with regional/metro-specific newsletters or local event curation.

  • Prior industry experience or a personal passion for racket sports (tennis, pickleball, padel) or sports in general is highly desirable.

Required Skills & Tools

  • Beehiiv (Advanced level for newsletter creation, deployment, and analytics)

  • Google Workspace / Microsoft Office (Excel/Sheets for tracking metrics and managing content calendars)

  • Internal communication tools (Slack, WhatsApp, or similar team tools)

Schedule & Pay

  • Full-time position (40 hours per week); US hours in the EST time zone.

  • This is a fully remote job for a US-based company.

  • Estimated Monthly Salary: R14,000 - R21,000 per month, depending on experience and skill.

  • Annual raises, bonuses, confirmed holidays, and PTO.
