What this role covers

We are hiring an E-commerce Customer Support VA for a fast-growing startup in the Biotech & Life Sciences industry. This is a Part-Time (ramping to Full-Time) remote role for a California-based company. This role is ideal for someone who is a proactive communicator, possesses high attention to detail, and is excited to help scale customer operations for two innovative brands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and respond to customer inquiries via email and live chat.

  • Provide detailed product information and support regarding orders, shipping, and general inquiries.

  • Resolve customer issues, returns, and tracking discrepancies with empathy and efficiency.

  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and feedback to help the leadership team improve the customer journey.

  • Coordinate directly with the owners to streamline support workflows as the brands continue to scale.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in E-commerce Customer Support (VA experience preferred).

  • Exceptional written English skills with the ability to maintain a professional yet approachable tone.

  • Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced startup environment.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple support channels simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience supporting Health, Wellness, or Biotech brands.

  • Familiarity with peptide products or scientific/research-based retail.

  • Experience working directly with entrepreneurs in a small-team setting.

Required Skills & Tools:

  • Helpdesk Software: (e.g., Gorgias, Zendesk, or Re:amaze)

  • E-commerce Platforms: Shopify

  • Communication: Slack, Gmail, and Live Chat tools

Schedule & Pay:

  • PART-TIME (starting at 20 hours/week) with the intent to ramp up to FULL-TIME as the role expands.

  • California (PST) hours in the Pacific time zone.

  • This is a fully remote job for a California based company.

  • Pay ranges from ₱23,600 - ₱31,500 per month (Philippines) or R6,700 - R8,800 per month (South Africa)

  • Annual raises, bonuses, and confirmed holidays/PTO included.

System Requirements:

  • Internet speed of at least 20 Mbps

  • Computer with a 2.4 GHz processor or higher

  • 8 GB of RAM or higher

  • Windows 10 or newer, or Mac OS X 10.10 or newer

  • HD 720p webcam

  • Headset with a microphone
